Virgin Hotels Nashville: A Dog-Friendly Stay in Music City

Why we checked out of one hotel and checked into this one mid-trip — and never looked back

There are hotels you book in advance, plan around, and look forward to for months. And then there are the ones you stumble into, fall for immediately, and end up rearranging your entire trip to stay longer.

Virgin Hotels Nashville was the second kind.

A Lobby That Does Something to You

We walked in for a look around and left having booked a room — even though we already had one down the street.

That's how good the first impression was. The lobby at Virgin Hotels Nashville has the kind of energy that's hard to manufacture: stylish without being cold, lively without being loud. The staff matched it. Warm, genuinely welcoming, and — as it turned out — the reason our whole trip changed direction.

The Detail That Changed Everything: Daisy Was Welcome Everywhere

If you travel with a pet who isn't a service animal, you know the drill. The constant mental math of every meal, every morning work session, every moment of the day organized around where your dog is allowed to be.

We travel with Daisy — our Great Pyrenees and Golden Retriever mix — and that mental load is real.

When the staff told us Daisy was welcome anywhere on the property except the pool, we waited for the catch. There wasn't one. She joined us at the bar, settled in while we worked, and sat with us through meals — which meant we were actually present for all of it instead of rushing back to a room or skipping experiences altogether.

For pet travelers, this is everything. It's the difference between tolerating a hotel and genuinely enjoying your stay.

Food, Drinks, and a Rooftop Worth the Elevator Ride

The pet policy alone would have sold us. But the property delivered well beyond that.

The bars offer great food and genuinely delicious drinks — the kind of options that make it easy to stay on property without feeling like you're settling. And the rooftop pool is exactly what you'd want from a Nashville stay: beautiful, well-designed, and a perfect place to decompress after a full day in the city.

Worth the Stay — With or Without a Dog

Virgin Hotels Nashville earns a recommendation for any traveler, but it earns a particularly strong one for anyone navigating a trip with a furry companion in tow. The combination of thoughtful pet-friendliness, genuinely good food and drinks, a stunning rooftop, and a staff that actually makes you feel welcome is rare.

We didn't plan to stay here. We ended up not wanting to leave.
